Prepares students to take a Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services sanitation exam in compliance with the Wisconsin Food Code. After passing the exam, students may apply for their Food Manager Certification. Topics include prevention of food-borne illness, health and hygiene issues, safe food handling, and proper food storage. (Formerly Sanitation Certification Exam Prep-Seminar)
Designed to educate owners/operators and employees of the food and beverage industry on responsible beverage service. Responsible service of alcoholic beverages will be explored. In addition, state and federal tobacco laws will be examined. The course fulfills Wisconsin Statutes which require alcohol sellers and servers, including new applicants/bartenders/operators, to complete training before a license is issued. A certificate will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the course.
