Prepares learners for entry-level employment as assistants to a licensed nurse in a hospital, nursing home, home health agency or community-based residential facility. Covers simple nursing tasks such as bathing and feeding patients, making beds and taking vital signs. FVTC's Nursing Assistant program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. In order to complete the course you need to participate in a clinical experience. All clinical agencies require completion of a background check and specific health requirements. This information needs to be sent to the agency prior to the class starting. Dept. of Health Services requires mandatory attendance for All classes, labs and clinicals. You are responsible for the class fee if you do not drop before the class starts. After the first class, please refer to the FVTC refund policy at www.fvtc.edu/refund. Use the Main entrance at Waupaca Regional Center, 1979 Godfrey Drive, PO Box 467, Waupaca WI 54981.
Course is not eligible for financial aid. Payment must be received prior to first class.
Purchase required textbooks, curriculum manual, and student handbook and bring to all classes.
REQUIRED AT FIRST CLASS: A current government-issued photo ID (State ID, Driver’s license, passport) is required at the first class.
Class includes in-person meetings at scheduled times and required online instructional activities. Students will need access to a computer and internet service for this class. To access the online instructional activities, log in to Blackboard at https://fvtc.blackboard.com/.
