Students will create financial timelines to solve financial problems. They will solveproblems involving simple and compound interest. Students will use discounting tosolve problems. They will calculate the components of ordinary and complexannuities. Students will solve problems using financial formulas, businesscalculators, and or tables. Finally, students will use descriptive statistics andspreadsheet applications to interpret financial data.

Students will complete textbook and online assignments and correspond with the instructor and classmates via the Internet.  Students must be proficient with computer and Internet usage.  Recommended only for the highly motivated and self-directed student who needs flexibility in his/her schedule. Class content is delivered entirely online. You will need a broadband internet connection and may need a webcam OR you can use a workstation at any FVTC location. On the class start date, login to Blackboard at https://blackboard.fvtc.edu.
