Thank you for registering for a Fox Valley Technical College class. It will be held at Faith United Methodist Church - Neenah located at 1025 Tullar Road, Neenah in Room 106.

Students will be attending only the first two classes of a three day session class from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Required supplies: sewing machine in good working condition including operator instruction manual, power cord and accessories, basic sewing supplies including desired project, pattern notions, preshrunk fabric and thread to complete your project, sharp cutting shears, scissors for trimming, rotary cutter, seam ripper, stick pins or long, white-headed pins (1 3/8”), pin cushion, scotch tape, small ruler, vinyl tape measure that is easy to read; needles, fabric scraps for testing stitches, sewing gauge, highlighter and pad of paper and pencil for note taking.  Please note: a rotary cutter is included in the above supply list as these are never supplied in the classroom.

Project ideas will be presented.
 

Beginning students – If you are ready to begin your sewing project on the first day of class, great. Bring your project and preshrunk fabric. If you need help determining pattern, fabric, interfacing and notions, plan to make your purchases after the first class. We will be glad to assist you with your selection. You will receive additional guidance information on the fundamentals of sewing machine operation and basic construction techniques, including fabric and pattern selection and cutting and sewing a simple pattern.

A limited number of sewing machines, sergers, cutting mats, iron stations and quilter’s rulers are available in the classroom for student use. If you wish to use sergers, an introductory class in serging is a prerequisite.  If you will be using a rotary cutter, please bring that also.

If you will be in class all day, you may want to bring a bag lunch and beverage.
