Tactical shooting skills course will include a review of the deadly force rules currently in place as well as classroom discussions of recent, relevant, and realistic case studies of use of force events. The range portion of this class will introduce participants to malfunction clearing, movement skills, and proper use of cover and concealment while firing their semi auto pistol. Instructed by Law Enforcement Academy instructors, course will enhance your knowledge of a deadly force incident. Tactical live fire component. All participants must bring proof of a valid CCW permit or HR218 credentials from Wisconsin or a reciprocal state. Striker fired semi auto pistols only with a minimum barrel length of 3.5 inches. (.9mm\ .40\.45 caliber). Students will need a heavy leather or nylon gun belt with an outside the waistband hard Kydex holster and magazine carrier. Prerequisite: Civilian Tactical 1 (60-504-608).

Successful completion of Civilian Tactical 1 or instructor approval is required prior to enrolling in this class. All participants must bring proof of a valid CCW permit, or HR 218 credentials from Wisconsin or a reciprocal state. Participants must bring their own firearm, quality outside the waistband strong side hip holster and belt capable of supporting a firearm (minimum belt width if 1 and 1/4 inch recommended). Firearms are limited to 9mm, .40 caliber or .45 caliber and must have at least a 3.5 inch barrel length. No “1911 style” pistol are allowed, striker fire only. All ammunition is furnished for this class. Students must have a physical fitness level to be able to perform normal movement (front-backwards-lateral). They must also be able to go to a kneeling position and stand back up with ease. Please leave your firearm in your vehicle until instructed to bring into the range and arrive 10 - 15 minutes early.
