English American Language and Culture 1

During this class you will be working on the skills that promote stronger language abilities, i.e. speaking, listening, reading and writing. In addition, you will also be strengthening the skills needed to be a successful university student, i.e. note-taking, critical thinking and classroom participation. The course also provides an opportunity to explore American Culture through Multi Media (film, television, periodicals and music). We will be discussing class, race, education and gender roles in society.
