This course is designed for students 12 to 14 years of age. Teaching youth a safe attitude when working with farm equipment, agricultural hazards, and animals. Federal law and the State of Wisconsin require youth that will be operating farm equipment and implements on the highway or working for someone other than a family farm to complete this course. To receive certification, students must complete a 24-hour training course, pass a written exam, pre-trip inspection, and a driving exam. Students who successfully complete this course will receive State of Wisconsin certification and if 14 years of age or older, Federal Certification.

The course requirements are as follows:

  • Complete virtual training modules following a weekly schedule.
  • Participate in weekly virtual check-ins to cover key components of the material.
  • Complete and pass the written exam.
  • Participate in in-person training sessions.
  • Pass the pre-trip inspection.
  • Pass the driving exam.

Students will need to contact Fox Valley Technical College to enroll in the course.

?Prior to the start of class (Tuesday, April 7th), students must visit a Fox Valley Technical College location to ensure the student is able to access the virtual classroom in Blackboard. Details of the virtual classroom can be found at www.fvtc.edu/flexible-learning. Further details of the in-person sessions will be found within the student’s Blackboard account.

Failure to complete any of the required tasks during the time frame will result in the student not passing the course
